A large weatherfront crossed Western Europe and cloud descended on our picturesque campsite in Switzerland. We lasted a couple of days in the mist and the hard driving rain before deciding it was time to bail!
We've come to a lovely part of France Les Abrets in the Rhone Alps, South east of Lyon. The kids are very pleased with the campsite as there's a bouncy castle, pool, kids activities and other kids who speak English!
Charlie was 6 yesterday. We had choc chip pancakes for brekkie, a present hunt on the playground and of course more cake. She's particularly excited as there's the promise of another party when we return to England.
We did a little tour of the surrounding countryside which is stunning. Lots of gorges, mountains with rocky outcrops and waterfalls. We went to the Monastery de la Grande Chartreuse where 400 years ago 50% of the monks were trying to find the 'Elixir of Life' and came up with Chartreuse liquer and the other 50% were trying to turn lead into gold.
