Arrived in the Eternal City

We've arrived in Rome and are staying in a great campsite not far from the centre.
Had a lovely evening exploring some fountains and obelisks. Did you know Rome has the most obelisks in the world (>18?) An obelisk is a spire made of a single piece of stone. Many of them came from Egypt as various Roman emperors liked them. They were taken back to Rome on ships specially built to transport them.

The kids have to dip their head into each fountain and have a picture taken in a silly pose...

Had great pizza and probably the best gelati we've ever had.

The Spanish Steps, spot the obelisk!

La Barcaccia Fountain (the leaky boat)
The Trevi Fountain, throw 3 coins over your shoulder and you'll return to Rome some day.
